Assumptions

(only as needed to align with the other applications), Child Find (new),
Medicaid, Outputs, Nightly/Count Reports, APR Queries (for State progress
reports), Hearing Module (separate from the others) o
WYSIWYG
interface format will be changed on web IEP to be more like IFSP which uses
fields to collect data. o
A consistent
programming language will be used among all the applications. ·
Projected
Timelines section, Phase I: o
Develop the
Child Find, this is a new application and specifications are being developed
at this time. ·
IFSP o
As of July 1, 2010 everyone will be using
the web IFSP. ·

Two AEAs, 15
and 267, are testing another Hearing Module system. At this time, the hearing
module is in plans for the rewrite but no final decisions have been made. ·
Customized

There will be
no customized modules in the new system. During this 2 year period (until
2012), AEAs that are using customized modules will be finding another way to
track those data. ·
Addressing
Unanticipated Needs o
When the Governance
Committee approves a change to any of the applications or requests that a
programmer work on a special project (e.g. changes in federal reporting
requirements), the CPC will present an adjusted timeline to the Governance
Committee. These timeline adjustments
are unknowns at this time. |

Overview of Child Find Process |
Jim Gorman gave an overview
of the new Child Find Application using the following three questions as
structure:
For the detailed document
click here. Question: How will I-Plan look in next 12 – 18
months? How will the General Ed plan
look? Answer: Work
is being done on the web based instructional plan for Gen-Ed.. The application looks like the old I-Plan,
but many special ed questions are gone.
The application is shorter and more teacher friendly. Two districts are piloting it now. This will be passed on to the Iowa Core
department in the future. The
to-be-developed Child Find module will contain the questions related to
special education. |
